• Lubrication or lube is a liquid people use to help make sex (and masturbation) feel better and smoother. Lube makes sex feel better because it reduces friction between body parts during sex. 

• When you and your partner are properly lubricated, sex feels less uncomfortable and more pleasurable. Because the anus does not lubricate itself naturally, lube is especially helpful during anal sex. 

• Keep in mind, though, lube is NOT a barrier method. You still need a condom when using lube to prevent STIs & HIV.
