Undetectable & TasP

HIV treatment helps lower the risk of spreading HIV to others. We call this “treatment as prevention,” aka “TasP.”

If a person takes medication as directed and gets regular check-ups, a person who maintains an undetectable viral load is 99% effective at preventing the spread of HIV. 

That means people who keep an undetectable viral load have virtually no risk of transmitting HIV to an HIV-negative partner!
